King-Devick Variable Color Contrast Sensitivity Acuity Chart iPad App
Will guide individuals through simple assessments of visual acuity, contrast sensitivity and color vision in an easy-to-use application.
The King-Devick Variable Color Contrast Sensitivity Acuity Chart is a tablet-based software that allows for assessment of visual acuity, contrast sensitivity and color vision in an easy-to-use mobile application. Testing distance is measured at the patient’s normal reading distance. Sloan letter sizes are automatically adjusted based on testing distance. Letter size can be increased and decreased by simply tapping the up and down arrows and are displayed in both Snellen and M units. Contrast levels can be varied, as well. Tap on the preset contrast levels for 100, 75, 2.5 and 1.25% contrast levels. The contrast can be manually changed using the sliding scale. The refresh button displays new randomized letters. Tapping the color button allows users to cycle between a display of primary colors: red, green, blue and yellow. Contrast can be varied for these color displays by either using the preset contrast levels or the sliding scale. For self-testing or if a tester is unsure of the correct letters displayed, the speak button will play back the displayed letters. Results can be saved for the Left and Right eye.
